Not always is necessary, but our business went from 217 followers to 5k in 2 weeks after we purchased a medium package at http://addtwitter-followers... Right after our campaign ended we gathered more than 3000 unique and organic followers that we're sure followed us because of our numbers...

Re: 5 reasons your company’s Twitter follower count is meaningless

Hi,
Nice post.Thank you for this post its having lot of useful information.Buying Twitter Followers is an important factor to increase the revenue of our business. If someone follows our business from that we can easily get the followers on twitter

Re: 5 reasons your company’s Twitter follower count is meaningless

Great post Liam, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. On the whole I completely agree, however I do think it's important to look at it from the perspective of someone who is outside of the social media sphere as it were.

I wonder then if you are a general consumer if someones Twitter follower count would play a role in your decision whether or not to follow someone. I'd imagine a higher count would behave in the same way a positive amazon review would.

But, in the end those followers are worthless to the company if they aren't engaged. You're absolutely right in your analogy, it can only be likened to shouting at strangers in the street.

I've taken a similar stance and this has meant that my follower count hasn't ever passed 200. I delete people I don't engage with and they delete me, but it has left me with 100+ actual customers that will buy my product rather than just plain old followers who don't really care for what I have to say.

Re: 5 reasons your company’s Twitter follower count is meaningless

On the whole, I agree with you 100% Liam.

I subscribe to the view that 10 RTs on twitter are worth more than 1000 followers. The point is that the 10 people concerned are demonstrating through their actions that they are actually interested in what you have to say, rather than randomly following your account, but actually having no interest in you or your messages. Unfortunately, some companies abuse the RT feature in the way, with incentives such as RT to get more followers.

I understand your point about engagement, but don't necessarily agree that having 5000 followers is a bad thing. For the followers to offer any potential value to a business, surely the key point is their quality and relevance, which comes back to how they are acquired in the first place?

I personally follow some excellent tweeters who are obviously recognised as being sources of information, applying the true spirit of sharing. As such, they achieve engagement by establishing themselves as experts or at least being very knowledgeable in their fields. It is not necessarily required to engage their followers in a two way discussion in order to achieve your aim.

In short, I believe if companies focus on the quality and relevance of their messages, they will gain the right followers. Returns can be achieved with a relatively low number of followers, but if you do achieve high numbers of followers, the returns are still there. The challenge becomes how to keep your message relevant to larger groups.
